I LOVE Chicago, but shooting music (concerts and bands) in the city is quite the chore. Sometimes I wish I lived in a minor market where I’d be the only photog. A lot of shows these days are stacked with photographers. Although with all that competition it forces photographers to really step up their game and deliver the best photographs they can.
Is kind of hilarious. I’m not typically a comedy central fan or a roast fan but some of these jokes are pretty hilarious. ”Bob Saget’s girlfriend is so young, R Kelly wouldn’t pee on her.” Whatever though. I’m working on getting this blog rolling. I just downloaded the new iphone app and I’m really going to try to get some stuff rolling here. I have some crazy antics typically, and most people would love to see them I’m sure. If not, you’re in the wrong place. Soooooo here’s what’s new with me… big client meeting with comcast tomorrow. I’m co-running it I guess, should be interesting. I’m shooting a video with the amazing Kevin Andrew Prchal in a short while. I’m probably going to mexico in early september to work at an orphanage for a week. I’m heading to the east coast for a quick wedding on the 20th and I can’t believe it’s almost september.
I’ve recently been trying to get friends and co-workers together on Fridays when we all get paid, for hanging out and margaritas. This week we moved it from the burbs to the city, here are a few shots…

I’ve got a standing tradition of heading out to jimmy buffet when he comes to town. I’m not a big buffet fan and a lot of times we don’t even end up going into the show because the tickets are more valuable scalped. But I hit it up with some friends last night and had a ton o fun. It always gets a little nutty, but crazy goings on are the story of my life. Anyways it was an interesting start to what’s going to be an interesting 3 weeks. Lolla hits this weekend, there’s always a million people around and some great shows. Typically the after shows are a little more fun than lolla itself. I’m snagging friday and then busting out on the warped tour to do some work with ludo and warped. Some people mock me for it, but in a past life I was a HUGE dave matthews band fan. Well, it’s not so much a past life as I haven’t really liked an album in a while. However I’ve maintained my fan club membership since seating is based on seniority, and I make it out to a show or two every year. I caught their show in Chicago on Friday and it was GREAT. It’s rare to see a band have so much fun on stage. They’re just out their playing what they want and having their friends come out with them. It’s great to see. Even if you’re not the biggest fan, you have a great time.

i just got some new paper samples and i’m uber excited. Due to time constraints for my last show I found a paper I liked (epson brilliant luster) and just went with that. Today I swung by calumet and picked up some sample packs and I just downloaded some profiles. Time to find an image that I like and print it over and over and over again. My first art show/fair was a great success (I think, I don’t have much to base it on). I sold a bunch of stuff, met a bunch of people, and learned a TON. I’m going to post some pictures of my booth and stuff tomorrow but the big seller is below…
